In most cases, the team looks quite well set, along with one or two "reserves".
The most important thing for me, is that though our conference's culminating meet is SEASAC; it isn't the biggest meet in the world!
In order to become a better program, we need to look beyond the conference where swimming is at a higher level, and aspire to compete there. No one should stop swimming if they don't make the SEASAC team...if anything, they should be more determined to improve! Age, team make-up (who is swimming at Dover right now) and SEASAC rules (5 swimmers per gender per age group) also determine who we can take. We have to fill relay teams (they score double points). We need to cover as many events as possible in individual events. Unfortunately, even swimmers who excel in one stroke, may not make the team because they need to be more versatile at this meet. This doesn't mean that they won't qualify for National Age Groups and swim well there!
