MS ACSIS & National Time Trials

Congratulations to our swimmers who performed very well today at MS ACSIS.
What was the most pleasing was the number of personal best times and also the size of many improvements. I have not received results (only meet mobile), and the meet hasn't been scored yet due to some entry issues with some teams entering more than their allocated 4 swimmers per event. These will be shared as soon as they are received.

It is obvious that the international school swimming landscape in Singapore is very competitive. We have a long way to go before we should be happy with our position among them. It is incredibly important that our swimmers love coming to swimming. It is equally important that they come to swimming with the intention of being better each time they swim. Swim, not just race.

Today was, for some, a reward for focus and commitment. Next on the radar is the National Time Trials on February 7 & 8. See the previous post for details on that.

The OCBC Aquatics Centre is currently hosting the first of two National Time Trial events offering swimmers the opportunity to qualify for the Singapore National Age Group Championships (SNAG).
Today some of our older swimmers swam, and tomorrow they will be joined by eight more.
The meet is running VERY slowly (the 200m fr/s took three hours this morning), so it could be a long day tomorrow! We are meeting at 7:20am again, at the swimmer's entrance - parents too!
It was great to see Dover alumni Lukas Menkof swimming - he has recently been accepted into the National Team training Group with new head coach Sergio Lopez (seen here with Joseph Schooling and Ryan Murphy). I know we will see Coach Lopez take Singapore Swimming to new heights in the coming years.
