The week that was...

This past week, the swimmers may have noticed an increase in intensity during practices. With ACSIS meets and SEASAC coming up, and following a break, this step up was essential.

We have also done some assessment of swimmers to ensure that our squads are operating/ functioning optimally; meaning that swimmers are grouped at the right level and able to handle the training assigned to that level. We do a disservice to the swimmer to have them in a group where the mileage and interval expectations are too high. Technique suffers and swimmers tend to enjoy their swimming less. There may be some changes, both up and down this next season, not because a swimmer has got worse, but we have reassessed that squad's criteria.

I am still waiting on bus vendor to return their quote to finalise the Splash Meet budget - flight and hotels have been booked for swimmers and parents already. This will be sent to those confirmed to travel to Bangkok , before Wednesday.

Camp sign-ups are available now.
Phuket - Singapore
Unfortunately, if you are interested in participating in the Phuket camp, I will need to close that form, as bookings have to be secured this week. Thanyapura is putting pressure on me to commit to a final number of rooms. I am confident that everyone will have a great time - parents and swimmers!

Middle School ACSIS is this weekend at NEXUS. Information for that was sent last week.
We also have a few swimmers attending the SSA Time trials on Saturday and Sunday.

There is a second SSA Time Trials event that SSA sent on Friday. This event will be on Feb. 7 & 8. I'll need your entries for this by this Friday 23. This would be a good meet for the older swimmers to attend.

Meet Mobile is now a pay-to-use app - it is approximately $7.00 annually. We will use this to publish results, as will other schools and clubs.
JS ACSIS is at Dover in two weeks!
Due to the School Fair and SEASAC Rugby/Touch, parking is going to be tight at JS ACSIS. All other schools have been informed that there will be no parking on-site.
We will set up an entrance to the pool from the front gate that will need to be manned by volunteers. We have hired timers for the meet but do need helpers for entrance security from 6:50am (passes are being distributed by me to schools directly), marshalling (this is a big one for the younger kids!), and medal distribution.
Please Sign-up HERE if you are willing to help - thanks in advance!!!

Touch the Wall Movie
Tuesday, February 3 is the tentative screening date for the swim movie Touch the Wall. The film will start at 6:30pm in the Main Hall
Entrance to the movie is $5.00
As there is a considerable cost to hosting a screening, we will need approx. 100 people minimum.

Team Caps and Tattoos
These will be available before and after practices from coaches. Caps are $5 and tattoos are $1 (previously advertised at less and after reviewing the invoice...oops)
