We managed to get by without a lightning alarm, rain, and ahead of schedule.
Thank you to the swimmers who participated. Normally a Club Champs involves everyone, just like a Club Night except you'll swim more often. Today worked out well as we sped through the events, making the entire meet as much a workout as the individual races.
This type of event is not something that usually produces great swims, but we did see some fast swimming today. Well done!
For this meet, only the points champion will receive an award - some swimmers may be surprised to hear that it has only been the last ten years or so that medals have been awarded at most meets. This was highly unusual outside of state, provincial and national meets until quite recently - swimmers swam to get faster, not medals. The in-house competition is very important as we should be racing each other EVERY day in practice. When you race all of the time, it becomes easy.
