The week that was...

First off a big congratulations to all the Junior and Senior Greens that swam at club night . The few Seniors that did swim did very well giving the 100 metres a go and Juniors, well what a group of little stars you all are and some just up from pre comp.
Next week we will focus on freestyle, our main work stroke, where we are looking for a relaxed recovery, a high over- the -barrel type catch, hand and arm angles that produce power while moving forward and a good kick. We will also be paying a lot of attention to our stream line work of the wall. Last week in the little pool we ended up with a few good streamliners. This week we want lots of the same.
Keep up the good work - Coach Pete

I would like to congratulate to our swimmers, I am very proud and glad of you guys that you did such a great job during this week, it's been busy and tough 6 days for all of us, it's because we had a great Club Night and successful May Madness swim meet+8 swim practices.
We could see a great performance from our junior and senior swimmers, they were showing us an amazing team spirit and hunger to improve and swim personal best times (even at the end of the year).
The SAS pool is always been fast and lucky for our team, i like to race there and have a good time with a great atmosphere and huge number of kids from Dover Phoenix.
Lets work hard and swim towards our big goals.-Coach Alex.

It was great to back on deck after attending the conference in Australia!
I was pretty much work as usual this week - we focussed on some technique work that I had reinforced while in Australia, and mixed up the energy systems to make sure we had a rounded week prior to racing.
Obviously taking two weeks away did wonders for our swimmers as they arguably had our best meet of the year as far as PB percentages went. I don't think the results have come through because we are contesting Alard's 400m Freestyle result and without nailing that down, they can't release the others.
Anyway, it was a great meet, so many great swims and great attitudes towards improving. Congrats to all (50+) who swam at SAS!

One disappointing aspect was the number of no-shows to the meet. Quite a few people had come down with injuries and illness - and let one of the coaches know - thank you. Others didn't! Not a good look for our team.

6:00am starts this week, and on to the end of the season!
