Alex and Ethan - 30km Swim Fundraiser

What's Happening?
For project week, Alex, Ethan, and Felix are planning to do voluntary work at CNCF (Christina Noble Children's Foundation). However, as some of the activities (including teaching children who are visually impaired) requires additional payment as we provide transport, meals, and staff; we need to raise money. In order to raise such funds, we have decided to do a 30 kilometre sponsored swim. On the 14th of December, Alex and Ethan will be swimming a total distance of 30,000 meters, (3 sets of 100x100’s).
Here is the breakdown of how your donations will be spent:

1) Funding for the visit the Tay Ninh Centre for Visually Impaired Children, including but not limited to:
i) Staff and transportation to the centre
ii) Food and drinks for the children

2) Supplies for the Sunshine Education Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. These centres are often under equipped:
i) Toys
ii) Arts and crafts supplies
iii) Sports equipment

3) The remaining funds (if any) will be donated to CNCF’s medical program, which provides basic medical assistance to less developed communities.

About the GC
Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) is a charity group primarily based primarily in Ho Chi Minh City, which revolves around helping underprivileged children by providing them with basic welfare and education. Apart from this, CNCF also provides healthcare and aids the development of communities. More information about their services can be found on their website: http://www.cncf.org/vietnam.html

We all believe in this organisation as we are passionate about helping those in need by offering them the essentials of life; healthcare and education. As the famous saying goes “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for life”. By helping CNCF, we provide the necessary ‘tools’ required for these children to break away from the poverty cycle they are currently stuck in. The money we raise for these children will not be for a short term cause, but hopefully will help them in the long run.

By sponsoring our swim, you will be directly improving the lives of impoverished children in Vietnam, breaking them out of the poverty cycle. By sponsoring a dollar per kilometre ($30), you can provide 2 children with a mini school kit, including one backpack, six notebooks, one pencil and three pens.We would greatly appreciate it if you support CNCF by sponsoring our swim which will be taking place on the 14th of December.
