This week for me culminated in spending Sunday at the JS ACSIS and what a fun day it was.
Well done to all the Phoenix on their great performances this weekend. It was a pleasure to witness you execute your skills and techniques under race conditions whilst having a tonne of fun throughout the day.
My hands are just recovering from the high fives and the tattoos are fading after hours of scrubbing.
Your focus on wall skills (starts, turns, finishes), your streamlines and your focus on finishing strong (the further you go the faster you swim) meant that you had success across the board as times improved based solely on the skills and efforts we are developing together.
You are at the beginning of your swimming journey and the more attention to the technical factors you can manage the better your journey will be.
Stay focused, and lets have as much fun at every meet as we all did today.
Great effort team - Gordon
It seems such a long time ago!
Highlights this week have to be two ACSIS Trophies won by our girls! It has been a while since anyone but EAST has had their hands on the MS trophy, so well done. Coach Smith called this evening to congratulate us on today's performance and also to added that UWC won all of the ACSIS titles this year!
It is also fantastic to see that our junior program is looking strong, and getting stronger - there were some great performances.
We also had some swimmers who entered the National Time Trials, around their ACSIS meet schedule.
There were some quick times swum despite the tough workload although some of those who have really been smashing it, are feeling it when they race - be patient.
We had great support from our captains - JC and Alex were on-deck at MS ACSIS, while Felix was officiating - he didn't have to DQ anyone which is great. Juliette was on deck again today (JS ACSIS - RESULTS) where she marshalled along with Eve Singer - thanks ladies.
Sasza has been in Bangkok at SEASAC Touch...where she and her team won the gold medal!!
My Swimmers of the Week are: Emiko, Ellah, Mae, and Ria who were involved in two ACSIS champion teams this weekend.
This week we will go fast on Monday morning (racing lanes are in - why not?) and then settle into some more aerobic work for the rest of the week.
Thanks to Henry, Joanna, and Janice for the wonderful work they did this Sunday - along with our coaches who have done the hard yards this week.
Fuel well this week - quality food equals quality performance.
MS ACSIS results will be posted as soon as we receive them from Nexus.
Club Night, Entries for National Time Trials - this is ANYONE wishing to swim for a time; and CNY Camp is only one week away
