The Week That Was...

Our overhaul of the practice schedules is already paying dividends.
We are seeing groups meet every session in their entirety. There is a squad/ team feel to workouts, and I can see vast improvement already because we are better aligned, and swimmers are swimming with the same people each session.
On Thursday, we head off to Kuala Lumpur for SEASAC. We've been preparing for the next three weeks (SEASAC, Jr. SNAGS, & Sr. SNAGS) all year. I'm excited to see what our swimmers will produce. I know they have done the work and all they have to do is pull it all together on race day.
I'm very confident in this group.  We have a wonderful team spirit that was strengthened further this weekend as the team got together for a SEASAC Team Bonding. Juliette and Sasza did an incredible job of organising an evening that will be hard to beat. I hope the swimmers appreciate the effort that these two put in. I'm sure pics and videos will be circulating.
Final preparation will be happening this week, while the Jr. SNAGS group will be doing a little more work before they race the following weekend. For this reason, the groups will be separated for much of each session.
Diet and sleep are incredibly important this week (and the next few). We will be doing less...less calories out needs less calories in. Serving sizes probably need to be reduced by 20-25% and quality of food must be high (clean).
Here's to some fantastic efforts in the coming week(s).  I hope that the focus on EXECUTION will see quality swims that our swimmers can be proud of.
