Last week was one of expectation for me and I know the swimmers were eager to meet Kris and Sarah on Saturday.
Club Champs went well - we were able to amble along as we only had 60 swimmers entered. We were treated to a beautiful morning weather-wise, and big thanks to Mr. Staples for putting on the BBQ to welcome Kris and Sarah - I hope everyone enjoyed their morning and had a chance to introduce yourselves.
The lack of numbers participating this past weekend is very concerning considering the squads that we have that are focussing on competitive swimming. Perhaps we need to re-visit the squad entry criteria and offer large fitness groups!
My squads have had some very good morning sessions and for the very few that have come in the afternoon, we've had some great land workouts, and spent a little time on basics - body position - staying in line or slippery swimming.
We will continue with more aerobic capacity work and have a little fun again on Friday.
Kris and Sarah will be on deck quite a bit this week through until Thursday, including Tony's Tuesday morning workout.
Next weekend, we have over 60 swimmers attending the May Madness Meet (more than we had for club champs???) We will have a combined workout from 7-8:30am Saturday
Looking forward to some great workouts this week - better today than yesterday!
