Hi all
As I'm sure many of you are aware, the SEASAC swimming championships are taking place this week (Friday and Saturday). This is the highest profile event in the international school swimming calendar. We have 29 swimmers representing both the school and the UWC Phoenix swim team.
The event will take place at the OCBC National Aquatics Centre on Friday (9am-4pm) and Saturday (10am-4pm). I would encourage everyone to lend their support to the competitors over the next few days (or indeed in person at the event). This will be my first SEASAC meet, and I am told it is the best competition anywhere in terms of generating team spirit, promoting the positives of racing, and for overall enjoyment of swimming. The swimmers in the team this year have shown a tremendous level of motivation and commitment, and I can see many Phoenix Seasacians of the future also showing these traits in training week-in-week-out.
As all coaches will be in attendance from warm up time onwards, there will be some unavoidable impact on training for those not competing. To try and minimise missed training, one coach will miss some of the competition warm-up on Saturday morning and take a combined session at Dover.
Training will be as follows:
Friday morning
No training
Friday afternoon
No Junior Squad training
Saturday morning
Combined training (6:30am-8:00am)
