Alard - Channel Swimmer!!

Hi all

Some of you may already be aware (but I wanted to wait until I had some photos to post) that Alard Schroeder completed a solo swim crossing of the English Channel on the 7th of August 2017.

This is an incredible feat, which required a huge amount of dedication, planning and support.

Alard spent the whole of his summer break preparing for this monster swim. After several emotionally draining days of hanging around due to inclement weather conditions, he was finally given the go ahead, and finished the 52km crossing from Dover (England - not UWC) to Calais in a time of 11 hours and 33 minutes.

This is a fantastic achievement, and the UWC Phoenix team are incredibly proud of Alard.

Alard is obviously taking a well deserved break, but please feel free to congratulate him upon his return.

Great job Alard!
