A pleasing day today in Hong Kong from the Dover Phoenix Swim Team. The morning began with PB after PB in the 400m Free and 50 Breast and 50 Fly events. Our relays were not as strong as hoped at the end of the first session - possibly a little fatigue creeping in and some short-cuts in the warm-down pool costing us points. We did win medals in the 15 & O boys' and girls' 4x100 Medley Relays
After a short 30min lunch break and a team talk, we began the second session with continued vocal support from team mates and the parents who have travelled to support us. It worked because we had a great session with our boys 15 & O relays taking the spotlight with two gold medals in the 4x50 Free relay and 4x50 Medley relay, and the girls' 15 & O taking silver in those same events.
Highlights in overall individual results would be: Ana Koczanowski's silver medal in the 50m Fly and gold medal in the 50 back; Khoi Pham's silver medal in the 50 Breast, and bronze in the 100 Free; Ciaran O'Donnell's bronze medal in the 50 Breast; Emi Cashman's bronze medal in the 200m Breast; Sasza Koczanowski's silver medal in the 200 IM and 50 Back, and Alard Schroeder's silver medal in the 400m Free.
Everyone is pretty tired, but looking forward to a very intense session tomorrow morning (Saturday).
You can follow progress and see individual results on Meet Mobile - final results will be posted when they are available following the meet.
As it stands, we are 3rd in overall points, 5th in boys' points and 2nd in girls' points. These were greatly boosted by our relay results which are double normal value.
