The week felt long for some of us as we had been going non-stop through CNY and into SEASAC, but these were a few productive weeks for the program.
Thanks to the parents who cam to speak with me. I've got a better idea of what you are seeing across the whole program and have some focuses now to improve some areas. Happily, most meetings were very positive!!
Junior Gold/ Senior Blue
This week been a low intensity week, after SEASAC the kids had to take a short rest, but not those who are going to race next week at SNAG. I was trying to work a bit more on their endurance and do more mileage, because the non SEASAC swimmers couldn't train for 4 days, so for them it was quite important to get back their fitness level and the water feel. This time I don't want to nominate anybody as a swimmer of the week, but start from next week I am going to take it very seriously, so I hope everybody will try to be the top swimmer in their squad.
Good luck for our SNAG swimmers, hopefully we can see many good swims and big PBs.
Warm regards,
Coach Alex.
Senior Gold
We too were split up last week, some from SEASAC and some not, traveled to ISB, a few took a day or two off to recuperate after SEASAC, and more continued with their training, some in preparation for SNAGS and others for the coming meets. We had the first of some swimmer interviews where we reflected a little on performance, training, and aspirations. This will continue, and will also be happening in the Jr. Gold and Senior Blue group, less formally - during practices. This week we have SNAGS for a few swimmers while training ramps up a bit for the rest of the group. We also start a new phase in strength training with less variety and a longer block of work. While I have acknowledged Felix for his leadership at the splash meet, I'd like to acknowledge Ana Koczaowski as our top swim at SEASAC - 711 Hy-tek Age points
