It was great to be back on deck this morning. Some of the swimmers have been out for two weeks - and it shows! Our Phuket campers look very sharp though - and tanned.We have received our shipment of snorkels. Snorkels have become a highly used piece of equipment for two reasons: 1. a perfect head position can be held for long periods in Fr, Br and Fly, along with kick sets 2. they slightly restrict the amount of air available during breathing, so work the "breathing muscles".
We will be using snorkels extensively!
We won't be supplying snorkels. Hygiene is important and I would prefer that the care of a snorkel is left to the individual using it. Senior Gold and Blue, and Junior Gold swimmers will need a snorkel.
Our snorkels are identical to those sold by FINIS. Their snorkels cost S$69. We will sell ours for S$20. We also have nose clips available as these make breathing solely through the mouth much easier - these normally retail at S$10. We have them for S$5.No one is required to buy the snorkels that we have - you can buy another brand if you want to, but we need all members of the squads listed above to buy one - this week preferably.
Snorkels and clips will be available from tomorrow: Tuesday April 14.
