This week been very interesting. We just came back from our holiday. The haze situation wasn't great because on Monday morning we still had to deal with the air quality and couldn't swim really hard. But thankfully, start from Tuesday, we had all the opportunity to train and prepare for our swim meets over the weekend.
My junior squad has always been very focused and serious about the instructions given to them, so we had a few days of quality swims, with a lot of sprints, dives and kicking sets.
Friday afternoon we had a short race against Dulwich and AIS, the hosting side (Dulwich) did a good job, giving us a chance to race and clock some fast times in their short course pool. We've finished pretty late, but everybody seemed to be happy and energized.
Next day we went to OCBC Aquatic Centre, Tanglin Sprint Festival, we could manage to take almost 70 kids, but I want to encourage every single swimmer, those who didn't take part, please sign up and race as often as it's possible, cause nothing is better then a big team, with many kids, who wants to swim fast and be the No1.
Swimmers did an awesome job, many great swims, big PBs and fantastic atmosphere among them. They were cheering, supporting each other, but the most important that we've been ONE Team.
Congratulation to the seniors, you guys have been showing such a great example to our little ones, very proud of you. Juniors, well done, remember that hard work always pays off. Top swimmers of the week are Ria and Jade.
See you next week - Coach Alex.
They worked hard and focused on technique, especially the push off the wall, and streamline with 3 dolphins, followed by 10 flutter kicks before they started freestyle.
They completed long sets of kick, pull and sprints. In addition they worked on breaststroke technique, and finished with 25 springs.
Swimmer of the week was Tiffany Goldstein for her hard work on focused in very set. Well done !!!

Coach Gordon's Swimmer of the Week: Aiko Talwalker
Senior/Nat Age/HP
It is always good to finish a week with a meet - but it makes deciding on one swimmer to high light very difficult. We had many very good performances at both meets as Alex said above; my swimmers swam at both meets.
Senior Swimmers of the Week: Emiko Talwalker and Alard Schroeder
Our captains and senior swimmers have been doing well in being inclusive of our juniors and have lead the pre-swim warm-ups, and are vocally positive. Keep it up!
We are in the process of assessing our program goal and deciding on a Mission Statement.
Right now, please wake-up every day with the attitude that you will do something to improve and be better than yesterday (not just in the pool - in life). If the air stays clear, you will be asked to train harder than ever. If you do this, you will be in a position to swim fast at our major meets. Looking forward to it!
This week we have Club Night and Dual Meet at SAS. Swimmers chosen for SAS will be notified tomorrow evening.
