SEASAC Results

Hi all

What a great meet that was!

As you know, it was my first experience of SEASAC swimming, and I wasn't disappointed. Not only did we have some fantastic results, but as you'll see from the (often blurry) photos taken by myself and coach Sarah, the team really came together and supported each other throughout. It was so nice to see the teary-eyed grade 12 swimmers giving high fives to the 12 and under swimmers, and swimmers supporting each other after good swims, and probably more importantly, when a team mate was disappointed. This was especially true during the relay events, which were probably our strongest performances over the two days.

After a hiatus of several years, the girls team took the overall trophy with all three age groups performing very well. The boys finished 5th overall against some very strong competition.

As mentioned, the relays were particularly good, showing the depth of strength within team Phoenix. This depth, along with the best relay change-overs from any team, resulted in the swimmers gaining a great point advantage over other teams in the relay events. There are a couple of nice photos which highlight how good the relay changes were (eg. Yulia taking over from Ria in the 4x100 Freestyle relay and gaining a huge amount over the person in the next lane - this was possibly the best result of the meet, as the 12 and under girls were not ranked to podium in that event).

There are some amazing photos taken by the professional photographers at the event, which we will hopefully receive a link to soon, but some can be seen at the Merlion Facebook page.

The photos taken by Coach Sarah and shaky-handed Coach Kris can be found here, and below are the podium shots that Coach Alex took during the meet.

I have also attached links to the meet results (with splits), the points scores for best boys and girls within each age group, and points scores for each gender and age group. Updated records can be found here.

Congratulations to everyone who competed, and thanks to Coach Alex, Coach Monica and Coach Sarah for their support over the weekend and every day at the pool.
