Club Night - Friday 13th October

Hi all

First of all, a massive thanks to everyone who took part and helped out at the weekend at the UWC Dover Invitational.

Janice has now sent out the results from the UWC meet, and we will send out results from the Nexus  Invitational (and a link to photos) shortly.

Club Night - Friday 13th October

With the first event of the year behind us, we are now in the process of organising our first Club Night of the 2017/2018 academic year.

It is our intention to alternate between Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings this year, to allow as many swimmers as possible to participate throughout the year.

We have now added this first Club Night to our swimming calendar and the sign-up for this event is available here or via the Phoenix Aquatics website

Club Nights are a low stress opportunity to introduce younger / new swimmers to racing, and allow more experienced swimmers the chance to practice race skills with the pool in competition set-up. They are also a great for swimmers of all ages to interact, for the older swimmers to develop leadership and mentoring skills, and for the younger swimmers to watch their more experienced team mates in action.

As we will be entering the entries in to our system, it is essential that all swimmers who wish to participate fill out this google form by Wednesday 11th October at the latest.

Anyone who does not sign up will not be able to race (with no exception).

Estimated timeline:

3:00pm: Warm-up (older squads can continue warm up during Junior Seal races)
3:15pm: Junior Seal (25m Backstroke)
3:25pm: Junior Seal (25m Breastroke)
3:35pm: Junior Comp (50m TBC)
3:45pm: Senior Swim/Comp/NAG (50m TBC)
3:55pm: Junior Seal (50m Freestyle)
4:10pm: Junior Comp (50m Freestyle)
4:20pm: Senior Swim/Comp/NAG (50m Freestyle)

By sticking to this timeline, Junior Seal & Junior Comp swimmers will finish at normal training time, and therefore will have the option to travel home as normal (e.g. 'Activity Bus'). If we run late, 'Activity Bus' swimmers may leave before the 50m Freestyle event if necessary.

Many thanks

Coach Kris
