2018 Club Championships Results

Hi all

Thanks to everyone who made the Club Championships on Saturday such a smooth event. The weather was pretty questionable at the scheduled warm-up time, but everyone was patient, and we managed to kick things off after a short 20 minute delay.

With well over 100 swimmers competing, it was a great event, with swimmers racing against people from different age groups throughout the morning dependent on entry times. The points were then calculated based on age specific placings.

Full results and age group scores can be found via the team website (under the 'swim team' tab and 'meet results' heading), as well as via the following links.

The prize-giving was preceded by an amazing performance from the UWC Phoenix Synchro Team, and was succeeded by our annual pool party, where the students could jump from the boards, tackle the Dover Destroyer,  eat pizza, and have fun!

As well as this, we bid farewell to a stalwart of the Aquatics Department - Coach Janice. After almost 6 years with the team, Janice will be relocating to Bulgaria with her family at the start of the next academic year. The generosity of many swimmers and parents meant we were able to give Janice the send off she deserved. Janice will be sorely missed, but we all wish her the very best for the future.

Thanks Coach Janice!!

And thanks to everyone in the UWC Aquatics team. It has been a great year for the team, and the amazing attitudes of our students and parents, as well as the depth of results on Saturday, suggest  that 2018/19 will be even greater.

Coach Kris
