Saturday morning

Hi all

Reflecting on the results of the various competitions that have recently passed, we have decided to take a slightly more specific approach to land training for the rest of this academic year (and potentially next year depending on the success). We had some excellent results at SEASAC and the two SNAG meets, and believe that by splitting the senior swimmers into different groups for some land sessions, we can improve even more.

With this in mind, we are aiming to run 4 different land sessions on Saturday mornings, with a slightly different focus for each group:

Seniors/NAG/HP (6:00am)

Body composition (Coach Sarah)
Body weight strength building (Coach Monica)
Power & speed of movement (Coach Kris)

Juniors (7:00am)

Body awareness, movement patterns & introduction to body weight strength building (Coach Alex)

Swimmers will remain in these groups for the subsequent swim session (rather than regular training groups), which will complement the land work performed.

We will be splitting these groups based on our perception of which areas will improve performance the most, and will have a discussion with swimmers on Saturday morning this week to talk a little more about the rationale behind groupings, and the plan going forward.

This means there will be no Club Morning this week, as we'd like to introduce this new program sooner rather than later.

Thanks

Coach Kris
