Hi all
Well done to all who raced at East Campus at the weekend at the annual Dragon's Den meet.
This is always a tough competition due to the proximity to the school holidays, especially for the older swimmers who suffer the most from any missed training, however everyone really exerted themselves well in every race. The lightning breaks on Friday and Saturday made race preparation difficult, with many swimmers warming up many hours before their race, and missing warm ups all together on Sunday (due to a change in schedule). Although this can be frustrating, it is important to remember that lessons can be learned from all situations, and there were very few complaints to be fair.
The younger swimmers in particular were very strong, with many racing faster than SNAGs in March. This is very impressive considering that SNAGs was a focus competition in near ideal conditions!
A special congratulations to Lele who was joint 1st in his age group overall. As the other swimmer was from a travelling team, Lele will have to wait a few weeks before receiving a trophy, but here is a little photo of him celebrating his individual performances.
Results from the meet can be found in the results section on the Swim Team website, as well as the event webpage.
With only a few competitions remaining in the academic year, please take note of the dates on the Swim Team calendar.
We will be releasing the team (and information) for Junior School ACSIS this week, and information for the annual Club Championships will also be released very soon.
